Yalameh-Aliabad Nomadic Rugs. South-West-Persia
Yalameh rugs are produced by former Ghashgai-nomads who have settled in South-West-Persia in the northern part of Fars province. The most popular Yalameh rugs are woven in and around a place called Aliabad. Yalameh is well known for its top-quality tribal rugs with diamond geometric designs and brilliant colors such as: copper red, red, blue , green, gold as well was cognac tones. In comparison to other tribal rugs, Yallameh is a finely woven rug with approximate 160.00 to 400.000 knots per m2 and hence very durable. The materials used are soft wool for the pile and hand spun goatshair and wool mixture as the foundation. The patterns are geometric animal or human figures scattered across the field. Due to its color-combination and abstract design, Yalameh rugs complement modern or minimalist furniture beautifully, giving the living space an aura of luxurious style and warmth.
