Tabriz is the capital of East Azerbaijan Province in Persia\u2019s northwest. With more than 1,5 million inhabitants, it is the fourth largest city in Iran, situated at an altitude of 1\u2019363 meters above sea level. Under the leadership of the Sassanids, Timurids and Safawides, Tabriz has had a rich history and has been through many ups and downs.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Tabriz itself and its suburbs, a variety of carpets are produced, ranging from basic to the finest knotting, from multifaceted designs with motifs of gardens, animals, and hunting scenes rugs to highly sophisticated artwork for decorating walls.
